Submissions for O’Brien’s Literary Speculator March Issue Closed
But fear not we will immediately begin accepting submissions for the July Issue. In all we received about five hundred printed pages of work which ranges from the “Gee I wish I could write like that” to theĀ “Don’t give up your day job, before completing a few grammar and basic writing classes.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy reading all of the submissions but I can only publish highly polished, compelling speculative fiction and poetry. So if you wind up in the rejection basket, know your story was read, and evaluated by the committee and get back to writing and polishing your story to make it compelling. You will be glad you did.
Because I know I will be asked this, does that mean if I rework a rejected story until it shines like a diamond and breaks the heart of everyone who reads it can I submit it again. The answer is, yes. However rework the story, polish it, shape it, make it a master piece.
Good luck and thank you to all of you who submitted. I am honored that you would consider my journal for your work
