O’Brien’s Literary Speculator

I am launching a literary magazine focusing on new and less heard  authors, poets and their writing. Fiction writers, writers of creative non-fiction, practitioners of poetry,  penners of essays, interviewers of vampires, angels, heritics, saints and heroes are all welcome.

The projected schedule for publication of O’Brien’s Contemporary Speculator includes 1 2007 issue. In 2008 the projected schedule is for 3 issues.

The goal is for each issue to contain eighty percent new voices.

I am also looking for project editors. O’Brien’s Literary Speculator will pay for editing on a project basis. Please inform me of your qualifications for editing at the time of your response.

For those who place power above profit I need the few, the brave, the highly skilled readers, who are willing to act with me as acquisition editors. You will have the opportunity to read all of the submissions that you care to or at least as many as are sent. You will be playing a major role in shaping the future of American letters.

The amount paid will be in line with other small press publications, which means that acceptance of your work will not allow you to quit your even your second job, no matter where you live, but the prestige garnered will create opportunities.

I am looking for a good printer who will do high quality short runs at an affordable price, in hopes of doing our much longer runs once this fledgling learns how to soar.

If you are interested in learning more about O’Brien’s Literary Speculator as either a contributor, editor, subscriber, supporter, printer, or in any other capacity, please contact me at Neartothekitchen@aol.com or by telephone at (714) 572 2190

Thank you for your time and for your consideration of these opportunities.

I’m looking forward to reading the inaugural issue of OLS. Cheers!

Wouldn’t mind reading your website but the font is so tiny (translated by AOL) that it’s literally impossible. If you are able to fix that, I promise to come back…

When Shakespeare wrote that brevity is the soul of wit was he also making references to ink & font? I agree that the font size for this page strains the senses. Other than this, the site and its literary links look great! I’ll be clicking around here for some time. Thanks.
